 Through the generous support of our donors, the University of Arkansas Rich Mountain Foundation is able to provide scholarships to currently enrolled students who are eligible for awards based on donor fund requirements. Foundation Scholarship awards are approved by the University of Arkansas Rich Mountain Scholarship Committee.

Applicants must complete a Foundation Scholarship Application unless otherwise noted in the fund description.

University of Arkansas Rich Mountain Foundation scholarships and grants:

Bill Abernathy Family Endowment Scholarship

The scholarship qualifications include priority consideration given to students from Mena, Acorn or Oden, but not limited to those areas. Scholarship awarded based on demonstration of financial need and academic ability. Scholarship funds awarded annually.

American Electric Power Designated Scholarship

Degree or certificate-seeking student. Scholarship award based on need of funds for outstanding balance of tuition, fees, or books. Scholarship funds awarded based on availability.

David and Kay Alley Designated Scholarship

The scholarship qualifications include priority consideration given to students enrolled in allied health programs to assist with educational-related expenses. Scholarship based on need and academic performance. Scholarship applicants enrolled in a degree or certificate program and demonstrate need and academic potential considered for the award. Scholarship funds awarded based on availability.

American Legion Auxiliary Designated Scholarship

The scholarship qualifications include demonstration of financial need and academic performance by the student and awarded annually. The scholarship award is for a female veteran or descendent of a veteran (daughter or granddaughter) student. Students from Polk County will receive first consideration for scholarship award. Scholarship funds awarded based on availability.

Branch and Daniel (B & D) Endowment Scholarship

The scholarship qualifications include demonstration of financial need and academic excellence by the student. Scholarship award applied toward the cost of tuition, books, fees and other related costs. Scholarship funds awarded annually. To renew the scholarship, students must have maintained a 3.0 grade point average during the first academic year. 

Scott Berry Memorial Endowment Scholarship

The scholarship qualifications include demonstration of academic and leadership abilities. Scholarship award applied toward the cost of tuition, fees, books, and other related costs. Students who have unmet need and pursuing an education in journalism will receive first consideration for scholarship award, but the scholarship is not limited to journalism majors. Scholarship funds awarded annually.

Joseph Wm. Blasberg, Jr. Entrepreneurship Memorial Endowment Grant

The grant qualifications include support for student participation in entrepreneurial related activities, provide equipment or supplies for the Entrepreneurship Program, or provide supplemental scholarship aid to students who have a special interest in entrepreneurism. Financial need will be a consideration for the grant. Scholarship funds awarded based on availability.

Rain Blockley Endowment Scholarship

The scholarship qualifications include students who have completed the Licensed Practical Nurse program, enrolled in the Registered Nursing program and demonstrate financial need. Scholarship award applied toward the cost of tuition, fees, books, and other educational-related costs. Due to the RN program operating on a calendar year, funding shall match the program cycle for this scholarship award.  The scholarship recipient must maintain a 3.0 grade point average to continue receiving the scholarship in subsequent semesters for the annual award. Scholarship funds awarded annually.

J.V. and Paula Brotherton Endowment Scholarship

The scholarship qualifications include students who are descendants or dependents of current employees of F.M. Dix Co Inc. or Brodix, Inc. Scholarship award applied toward the cost of tuition, based on financial need and academic performance. Scholarship funds awarded annually.

Concurrent Credit Designated Scholarship

The scholarship qualifications include second priority consideration given to students from Montgomery, Polk, and Scott counties enrolled in concurrent credit courses that qualify for the concurrent course tuition rate. Scholarship award based on financial need and academic performance. Scholarship funds awarded based on availability.

Carroll G. and Louise Davis Endowment Scholarship

The scholarship qualifications include students who have graduated from a Polk County high school, enrolled full-time, and pursuing a two-year degree. Scholarship applied toward the cost of tuition, books or fees and based on financial need and academic ability. Scholarship funds awarded annually. Students may reapply for the scholarship for the second year based on financial need, academic ability, and completion of degree or certificate.  

Dr. L.O. Dickson Endowment Scholarship

The scholarship qualifications include students seeking a nursing degree or an Associate of Arts degree with a focus in science, math, or medical-related field.  Scholarship applied toward the cost of tuition, books, and fees and based on financial need and academic ability. Scholarship funds awarded annually and may be renewed for a second year.

Eastern Star Nursing Designated Scholarship

The scholarship qualifications include nursing students and award based on need and academic performance. Priority for the scholarship award will be for students in Polk County. Scholarship applied toward the cost of tuition and awarded annually. Scholarship funds awarded based on availability.

Educational Talent Search Designated Scholarship

The scholarship qualifications include UA Rich Mountain Talent Search Program high school students currently enrolled in concurrent and/or dual credit courses or high school graduates that currently enrolled at UARM and were active participants in the UARM TS Program. Scholarship awarded based on need and academic performance. Scholarship funds awarded based on availability.  

Helen Margaret Edwards Designated Scholarship

The scholarship qualifications include a current Oden High School graduate pursuing a degree or certificate. Scholarship award based on need and academic performance. Scholarship funds awarded based on availability.

John and Lillie Faulkner Endowment Scholarship

The scholarship qualifications include priority consideration given to Polk County students that are members and/or family (dependent students) are members of Rich Mountain Electric Cooperative but not limited to students that do not meet the criteria. Scholarship award based on financial need and applied toward the cost of tuition, fees, books, and educational-related expenses. Scholarship funds awarded annually.  

Forty Year Club Endowment Scholarship

The scholarship qualifications include current Mena High School graduates. Scholarship award based on financial need and academic performance. Scholarship applied toward cost of tuition and may be renewed for a second year with the demonstration of a 2.5 grade point average and successful completion of a minimum of 24 credit hours. Scholarship funds awarded annually.

Dr. Walter and Gladys Geyer Endowment Scholarship

The scholarship qualifications include priority consideration given to students majoring in communications, radio/television/film, aviation, medical field, nursing, or medical-related studies.  Students must demonstrate financial need and academic excellence.  Scholarship covers tuition, books, fees, and other educational-related costs. Students who maintain a 3.0 grade point average are eligible for scholarship renewal for the second year. Scholarship funds awarded annually.

Gerald & Rachel Goforth Endowment Scholarship

The scholarship qualifications include consideration given to students majoring in the medical field or business administration. Students must demonstrate academic ability and economic need. Scholarship funds awarded annually.

Bill and Jean Harvey Endowment Scholarship

The scholarship qualifications include consideration given to students from Polk County and based on need and academic performance. Scholarship funds awarded annually.

Charles Hansard Endowment Scholarship

The scholarship qualifications include consideration given to students based on need and academic performance. Scholarship funds awarded annually.

Nick Hawkins Memorial Endowment Scholarship

The scholarship qualifications include a degree-seeking student with priority consideration given to a current graduate of Waldron High School or non-traditional student from Scott County, pursuing an education-related degree or teaching field and bilingual. Scholarship applied toward the cost of tuition, fees, and books. Scholarship funds awarded annually.

Samuel and Dorothy Honse Endowment Scholarship

The scholarship qualifications include consideration given to students based on need and academic performance. Scholarship funds awarded annually.

Hooker Family Designated Scholarship

The scholarship qualifications include consideration given to nursing students to complete their education and based on need and academic performance. Scholarship funds awarded based on availability.

Margaret Hopper Endowment Scholarship

The scholarship qualifications include consideration given to students from the Ouachita Mountain areas of rural Arkansas and rural Oklahoma, including Idabel or Broken Bow, Oklahoma. Scholarship based on need and academic performance. Scholarship funds awarded annually. 

Dr. John Lamb Memorial Designated Scholarship

The scholarship qualifications include consideration given to students entering a program that will lead to a state certification, certificate, or degree relating to the medical field.  This includes associate degree programs as long as the degree program includes prerequisites for the major of study and/or degree program the student specifies on the scholarship application.  Scholarship award based on need and the ability of the student to be successful in completion of their studies. Scholarship award applied to educational-related expenses and funds awarded based on availability.

Harris-Percifull Endowment Scholarship

The scholarship qualifications include priority consideration given to students who are in their sophomore year and a graduate of Oden or Mena High School. Students must demonstrate leadership skills and academic potential. Applicants who are sophomore students and meet the leadership and academic potential criteria but are not graduates of Oden or Mena may also be considered for the award. Scholarship funds awarded annually.

Herbert A. Littleton Memorial Endowment Scholarship

The scholarship qualifications include priority consideration given to students who are veterans or active duty military personnel or their spouses or children based on established criteria. Applicants who are degree-seeking but do not meet a priority category may also be considered for the award. Grant applied to the cost of tuition, books, fees and other educational-related costs. Scholarship funds awarded annually.

Mena Schools Endowment Scholarship

The scholarship qualifications include a current Mena High School graduate. The scholarship shall not exceed the cost of tuition for two semesters. Scholarship award based on financial need, academic performance, and demonstrated commitment to their program of study. Scholarship funds awarded annually.

Nachtrieb Endowment Scholarship

The scholarship qualifications include priority consideration given to students majoring in science, art or music.  However, the grant is not limited to students in these areas.  The grant qualifications include need and academic performance.  Scholarship applied toward the cost of tuition for two semesters. Scholarship funds awarded annually.

Clara O’Daniel Memorial Endowment Scholarship

The scholarship qualifications include priority consideration given to students who demonstrate financial need and academic excellence. Scholarship applied to tuition, fees, and books. Scholarship funds awarded annually. To renew the scholarship, students must have maintained a 2.5 grade point average during the first academic year. 

Max H. Pearson Endowment Grant

The scholarship qualifications include priority consideration given to students who demonstrate financial need and majoring in the field of communications as related.  If there are no communication majors applying for the grant or if the earnings for distributions exceed the awards granted to communications majors, the grant gives second priority to students majoring in engineering (greatest priority given to those majoring in engineering associated with the communications industry).  The grant gives third priority to business administration majors. Scholarship funds awarded annually.

RMCC Maintenance Staff Designated Grant

The grant provides full-time maintenance staff at University of Arkansas Rich Mountain and their immediate family with funds to purchase books for classes they take at the College. Grant applied to the cost of books and fees for maintenance staff based on a letter written to the scholarship committee stating need.  Scholarship funds awarded based on availability.

RMCC Theatre Arts Designated Scholarship

This scholarship provides University of Arkansas Rich Mountain students with funds to pay for tuition, fees, and books. Scholarship awards based on minimum GPA of 2.50 and taking an active part in UA Rich Mountain Theatre productions. Applicants must complete an RMCC Theatre Arts application. Scholarship funds awarded based on availability.

RMCC Tower Endowment Grant

The scholarship qualifications include consideration given to students based on need and academic performance.  Scholarship applied toward the cost of tuition and funds awarded annually.

Rocha Family Endowment Grant

The scholarship qualifications include priority consideration given to minority students seeking degrees in the medical field or business administration. Second priority given to students seeking degrees in medical field. Third priority given to students majoring in business administration. Fourth priority given to any student who has financial need and demonstrates academic excellence. Scholarship applied toward the cost of tuition, fees, books and other related costs associated completion of education. Scholarship funds awarded annually. To renew the scholarship, students must have maintained a 3.25 GPA during the first academic year.   

Dale Rodgers Family Endowment Grant

The scholarship qualifications include consideration given to students based on the following:

Grant I awards funds for tuition, fees, books, or supplies for two semesters with priority consideration given to students in the nursing program, but not limited to nursing students. Scholarship funds awarded annually.

Grant II awards funds for tuition, fees, books, or supplies for two semesters with priority consideration given to students over the age of 25 who have established an associate/certificate degree plan. Scholarship funds awarded annually.

Southwest EMS (SWEMS) Endowment Scholarship

The scholarship qualifications include priority consideration given to Polk County students based on the following:

First priority given to students enrolled in Emergency Medical Technician program. Second priority given to students enrolled in Certified Nursing Assistant program. Third priority given to students enrolled in Licensed Practical Nursing program. Scholarship applied toward the cost of tuition, fees, books and other educational-related costs. Scholarship funds awarded annually. Students from Montgomery and Scott counties may also be eligible.

Richard K. and Betty M. Speairs Mathematics/Science Endowment Grant

The grant enhances the opportunities in mathematics and science for students and faculty at RMCC.  During the second semester, this grant may award supplemental scholarship/tuition aid to students with special financial needs and demonstrated academic ability or with a special interest in mathematics and science based on the recommendation of the math and science instructors. Scholarship funds awarded based on availability.

Ed and Dorothy Stevenson Endowment Grant/Scholarship

The grant qualifications include priority consideration given to students based on the following criteria:

Grant I awards funds to students from Polk County based on financial need.  Scholarship applied to tuition, books, and fees for two semesters.

Grant II awards funds to students based on need and academic performance. Students must be Cove, Vandervoort, Hatton, or Wickes, or who graduated from Wickes, Van-Cove, or Cossatot River High School. Grant applied to tuition, books, and fees for two semesters. Scholarship funds awarded annually.

Rudolph and Gerritje Timmerman Endowment Scholarship

The scholarship qualifications include priority consideration given to students majoring in science or broadcast media. The scholarship may be awarded to students who are not enrolled in science or broadcast media. Scholarship funds applied to tuition, fees, books and awarded based on need and academic performance. Scholarship funds awarded annually.   

Thrailkill Family Endowment Grant

The grant qualifications include priority consideration given to students majoring in business administration. The second priority given to students pursuing an Associate of Arts degree. Scholarship awarded annually and applied to tuition, fees, and books. 

To renew the scholarship, students must have maintained a 3.0 grade point average during the first academic year.

TRiO Leadership Designated Scholarship

The scholarship qualifications include priority consideration given to post-secondary students who demonstrate leadership potential and are current or former participants of a specified TRiO program: Educational Opportunity Center, Student Support Services, Educational Talent Search, Upward Bound and Upward Bound Math and Science. Scholarship funds awarded based on availability.

Union Bank Endowment Grant

The scholarship qualifications include priority consideration given to students from Polk County and is based on financial need and academic performance. Scholarship funds applied to tuition for two semesters and awarded annually.

Upward Bound Designated Scholarship

The scholarship qualifications include UA Rich Mountain Upward Bound Classic Program or Upward Bound Math and Science high school students currently enrolled in concurrent and/or dual credit courses or high school graduates that currently enrolled at UARM and were active participants in the UARM Upward Bound Classic Program or Upward Bound Math and Science Program. Scholarship awarded based on need and academic performance. Scholarship funds awarded based on availability.  

US Electrical Motors/NIDEC Motor Corporation Endowment Scholarship

The scholarship qualifications include priority consideration given to students who are children or grandchildren of US Electrical Motors/NIDEC Motor Corporation employees.  The scholarship provides funds for full-time students who have exhibited above average academic performance and need financial assistance. Scholarship applied to tuition and may be renewed for a second year based eligibility of a 2.0 grade point average. Scholarship funds awarded annually.

Dick and Jan Wennberg Designated Scholarship

The scholarship qualifications include priority consideration given to students enrolled in a nursing program, including the Certified Nursing Assistant program. Scholarship funds awarded based on availability.

Bob and Sue Wilson Endowment Scholarship

The scholarship qualifications include priority consideration given to students enrolled in the field of teaching, educational-related field, or agriculture-related field. Scholarship based on financial need and academic ability with a minimum of a 2.5 grade point average. Scholarship funds awarded annually.

Bob Carver Endowed Scholarship

Degree or certificate-seeking student. Scholarship award based on need of funds for outstanding balance of tuition, fees, or books.  Scholarship funds awarded annually.

Bob Carver Endowed Athletic Scholarship

Degree seeking student athlete.  Scholarship award based on need of funds for outstanding balance of tuition, fees, books, or housing costs.  Amounts are subject to change.  Scholarship funds awarded annually.

Claudett Taylor Nursing Scholarship

The award is designated for a nursing student from Scott County.  Scholarship funds awarded annually.

PEO Designated Scholarship

This scholarship is to be awarded to a female student enrolled in nursing program – LPN, RN or CNA program.  Scholarship funds awarded based on availability.

UA Rich Mountain School of Cosmetology Designated Scholarship

This scholarship is to be awarded to students currently enrolled in the UA Rich Mountain School of Cosmetology Program.  This scholarship is to be applied toward tuition, fees, & books.  Scholarship funds awarded based on availability.

UA Rich Mountain Humanity Designated Scholarship

Any degree seeking student interested in humanities who demonstrates financial need and academic excellence.  Applied to tuition, fees, books and other related costs.  Amounts are subject to change.  Scholarship funds awarded based on availability.
