Sign into Blackboard

  1. Go to https://uarichmountain.blackboard.com/. We recommend the Chrome or FireFox browsers. Do not use Internet Explorer, Safari, or Edge to access Blackboard.
  2. Sign in with your UA Rich Mountain email address and password.

First-time Blackboard Access:

When first signing into Blackboard you will receive a prompt for more information. To proceed you must register for self-service password reset.

  1. Click “Next” on the prompt for more information.
  2. Follow the on-screen prompts to set and verify your two password recovery methods.
  3. By default, you will be asked to set up the Microsoft Authenticator app as one of your recovery methods. If you do not want to use that app you can click the “I’d like to use a different method” link to choose a different recovery method.
  4. Note: If you choose to set a recovery email it must be a personal email address not one provided to you by our institution.
  5. Click “Done” and go back to Blackboard (https://uarichmountain.blackboard.com/). You should now be able to successfully sign in.

After this registration you can reset your UA Rich Mountain account password at any time by using the “Forgot my password” link at https://www.office.com

Important: If you get a new phone, make sure to update your password recovery methods at https://aka.ms/mysecurityinfo.

Troubleshooting Steps for Blackboard Sign on Errors:

If you are not yet registered for classes or are registered only for classes which begin more than two weeks in the future:

You are not yet eligible for Blackboard access. Your first access to Blackboard will be granted two weeks before the start date of your first class. Try signing in again closer to the start date of your class.

If your UA Rich Mountain student account was activated (or reactivated) less than one hour ago:

Wait until an hour has passed since you performed that account activation and then try accessing Blackboard again.

If your UA Rich Mountain student account was activated (or reactivated) more than one hour ago:

  1. Go to myapps.microsoft.com and make sure you are not already signed in.
If you are signed in, sign out by clicking the circle icon in the top right-hand corner, “Sign Out”, and then the account to sign out of. Then try signing into Blackboard again.
  2. Clear your browser's cache then try accessing Blackboard again.
You can find instructions on how to clear your browser cache by Googling “How to clear cache [Name of your web browser]” (ex: How to clear cache Safari).
  3. If using a Windows PC or laptop with Office 365 installed, press the Windows icon in the bottom left-hand corner of your screen then type “Settings”. Open the Settings app. In the Settings app go to “Accounts” then “Access work or school”. If your UA Rich Mountain student account is listed on that page, click on it then select Remove. Now try accessing Blackboard again.
  4. Email blackboardhelp@uarichmountain.edu for additional assistance.
