Associate of Science Biology
Program Outcomes
Students will increase their:
- applications of tools and technology, basic requirements for a research skill, critical thinking including observations of biological samples, data collection, data analysis, proofing hypothesis and writing scientific reports.
- understanding of basic characteristics common to all living organisms including level of biological organizations, homeostasis, metabolism, and adaption to the ques of abiotic and biotic factors plus biodiversity and habitat loss.
- understanding of organic and inorganic molecules including the importance of functional groups in determining the properties of macromolecules like carbohydrate, protein, lipids and fats, nucleic acids.
- extraction of biological molecules including pigments, DNA and RNA.
- specify metabolic pathways, electron transport chain to produce the energy molecule like ATP and flow of energy in the biological system.
