The Associate of Arts Degree is awarded by University of Arkansas Rich Mountain to students who plan to transfer to a four-year institution in order to complete the baccalaureate degree.

The purpose of the Associate of Arts Program is to provide students with the knowledge and critical thinking skills that will enable the student to analyze problems, arrive at intelligent conclusions, and make reasoned choices in his or her professional and personal life.   Course syllabi specify how each class will help students achieve the outcomes and competencies of the general education curriculum.

  1. Students will increase their writing, reading, speaking, and listening skills.
  2. Students will increase their competency in mathematics, utilizing their analytical and occupational skills to solve real-life problems.
  3. Students will increase their understanding of different cultures and societies across the globe and how both have changed over time.
  4. Students will increase their understanding of basic principles and their application in the field of physical sciences and biological sciences.
  5. Students will increase their technological and research skills.
