Gene Haas Foundation Provides Scholarships

At the 2017 Annual Giving Campaign event, An Evening of Jazz, the Gene Haas Foundation presented a donation of $15,000 to fund scholarship awards for the 2017 year for University of Arkansas Rich Mountain students enrolled in the following UA Rich Mountain technical programs: Machine Tool Technology, Advanced Manufacturing, and Welding. Priority for scholarship criteria consists of demonstration of academic performance and financial need.

The Gene Haas Foundation was founded by Gene Haas in 1999. Haas is the owner of Haas Automation, Inc., America’s leading builder of CNC machine tools, which he started in 1983. The Gene Haas Foundation focuses on manufacturing education in the form of scholarships for CNC machinist training to prepare students for the industry’s skilled workforce.
