McMillin Named to Arkansas TRIO Hall of Fame

[APRIL 23, 2019 | MENA, Ark.]  UA Rich Mountain sophomore Consuelo McMillin has been named to the Arkansas Trio Hall of Fame.

McMillin is a participant in the college’s Student Support Services (SSS) through TRIO.   SSS provides academic tutoring, assisting students with information on both the full range of financial aid programs, course selection, career counseling, exposure to cultural events and academic programs and much more.

McMillin works as a full-time waitress while also pursuing her college education. After graduating from UA Rich Mountain, she plans to pursue a medical lab technician degree and eventually earn her bachelor’s degree.

“SSS tutoring helped me in more ways than just simply enriching my basic knowledge. It has been a vital part of my academic success.  SSS personnel are very approachable and always there to assist me anytime I need help. They have tutored me in English, biology, and anatomy and physiology. SSS tutoring makes my studies a lot easier and less stressful to do my assignment,” said McMillin as she expressed her sincere appreciation to the staff of SSS in helping her with her educational goals.

SSS is under the leadership of Lisa Rackley, who said that McMillan was very deserving of this recognition, “SSS is very proud of Consuelo and proud to nominate her to the Arkansas TRIO Hall of Fame.”
