Each year, the UA Rich Mountain Foundation hosts a wreath silent auction in the months of November and December. From the proceeds raised, the Foundation provides support to various community service projects as a way to give back to the community for supporting the College and Foundation. For 2017, the community service projects selected were the Backpack for Kids Program and the Back to School Bash Program. The donation for the Backpack for Kids Program was presented to Mena Lioness Lions Club by members of the UA Rich Mountain Foundation Board including; Joe Liles, John Vacca, Bo Collins, David Alley, and Damon Miller as well as staff; Jessie Barr, Development Assistant and Tammy Young, Director of Development and Community Relations. The donation for the Back to School Bash Programs for Polk and Scott County was presented to Polk County event coordinators, Wendy McDaniel and Charlotte Wiles and Scott County event coordinators, Tammye Sherrill, Lisa Harrison, and Chad Fielding by members of the Foundation Board including: Bo Collins, Karen Mosier, Dr. Krystal Thrailkill, Chancellor Phillip Wilson, David Alley, Joe Liles, John Vacca, Damon Miller, Mark Fretz, Brian Hensley, and Avel Mendoza as well as staff; Tammy Young, Director of Development and Community Relations.
